Prof. Antonia Jiménez has a degree in Chemical Sciences (Electrochemistry) (UAM-1993), PhD in Industrial Technologies (UC3M-1999), University Professor (2019). She has 28 years of experience in the area of Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering.
Research: related to powder metal injection (PIM), additive manufacturing (AM), MAX phases, electrochemical-corrosion, sol-gel technology, smart and/or bioactive coatings, biomaterials. Member of the Powder Technology Research Group (GTP) and responsible for: (1) Sol-gel coatings, (2) MIM/PIM oriented to AM, and (3) Electrochemical characterization. He has participated in 77 research projects, being PI of 19 of them (9 in public call (1 European CleanSky; 6 Innpacto/Retos-Colaboración; 1 Plan Nacional and 1Comunidad de Madrid); 10 with companies (1 European). She is a member of the Centro de Investigación Biomédica en Red CIBERINFEC (CB21/13/00043, Instituto Sanitario Carlos III). She is co-author of 98 publications (Scopus; h20), 1137 citations. Her work has been recognized with 4 sexenios research and 1 sexenio transfer. She has supervised 13 doctoral theses: 11 with International Mention and 2 with Double International Diploma (UC3M-University Franche Comté, France. He is supervising 2 more theses.
Technology transfers: (1) Co-inventor of 4 patents; (2) Collaboration with spin-off company MedCo; (3) 104 technical assistances.
Teaching: Undergraduate and Master’s degree in subjects related to Materials Science and Engineering and his specialty (electrochemistry, solgel, etc.). Tutoring students of end of studies (TFG, TFM), within the Ecuador program of the UC3M and students oriented to STEM. She has participated in 8 teaching innovation projects. DOCENTIA evaluation: category-excellent, subcategory-excellent. Teaching recognized with 5 quinquenniums.
She has been Excellence Award 2015 Young Research Staff (Social Council UC3M, Airbus and Banco Santander).
